This is such an awesome idea. SSD drives are too darn expensive to store all your data on. But you want the speed advantage! Enter: SSD caching. Basically you set your system up with a big fat magnetic drive and a smaller capacity SSD, store everything on the magnetic drive, and your motherboard is going to cache recently-used data on the SSD. All additional requests for that data will be read off the SSD, not the slow magnetic drive. The performance advantage is clear and substatial.
