My house mate got it and as I know his Apple ID I got a free copy of it.

So far, not much is different. It installed Notes and Calendar, two applications that I can't install. And the Notifications tray thing is only useful if you use all the default Apple applications for Mail and Calendars and things.

But the real reason I upgraded it was the AppleTV Mirroring. It works pretty good. Defaults to 720p which is annoying cause it screws up my monitor layout.

But overall it is pretty good. And like what most people say, its only $20.
