This latest giant leap forward is the lengthy list of items to be banned at this year's Olympics, including umbrellas (because, y'know, all that talk about rain on the British Isles is just a myth...), long-lens cameras (because of course everyone who wants to take photos of such an epic event will be seated right next to the athletes), bottled water (because if you're thirsty you can just look up and open your mouth and... oh, right, we already said there was no rain...), and "political" clothing (because, let's face it, political dialog is just far too distracting from The Plan, and too easily runs the risk of exposing people to new ideas and new ways of looking at the world around them...).
Remember how much criticism China got for similar bans at their Olympics? Now Britain's falling in line right behind them -- because we all know that China is a world leader in free and open governance!
