I don't remember Peeta removing the tourniquet (holy crap that's a hard word for me to spell) in the book? I thought he more or less offered to let her kill him, and then the berries. So, that seemed right to me, but I just hated that they made them practically 100% by the end of the games--they looked like all they needed was a good bath. As if the games had been physically easy for them. That pissed me off.

Re: Rue and the trackerjackers...I actually interpreted it as her idea in the book, though I donno that it was ever explicitly stated that it was...hmm. I do agree that her fucking with the tributes was fun and I also don't remember it from the book...but did you really think her character was developed by the time she died? Katniss' reaction and my memory of Rue from the book is why I cried at that scene, not because of movie-Rue.
Oh, and yeah, I agree, Ceasar's appearance during the hallucination was off. I like that someone appeared who wasn't there, but I still say I wish it'd been Gale. Like maybe Gale with Peeta's voice telling her to run, like they did with her mom? I donno. But, it was fun to see Ceasar in his Capitol finery in the forest with her, and SO OBVIOUSLY out of place. Maybe just some better lines, instead of more head-beating with what's going on (they already did the exposition dammit, we didn't really NEED him to tell her!)
The fight at the feast was between Katniss and Clove. ;) (I donno why I'm good with the names of the characters in this trilogy, I usually SUCK with names, especially atypical ones)

How'd you like the increased role of the Gamemaker and his execution?
I watched it again with Ed recently, and he said one of his favorite parts was seeing Haymitch talk to the Capitol folks to try to get sponsorships. I agreed with that, it was a FANTASTIC addition.
