The one nitpick I had...the pocketwatch was missing. Which really really really bothered me, but the movie worked fine without it.
I generally think this one probably translated far less to people who haven't read the book than the first one--there was a group of girls outside the theater afterwards begging for someone to explain the ending to them (and it woulda been kinda hard to follow without my knowledge of the books)
