I'm quite happy to see Android doing so well in the smartphone market, because in my opinion it's a better platform than iOS in that it's wide open for companies and developers to innovate with. What I don't understand, though, is that there is still a popular perception that the iPhone is the dominant mobile platform, which leads to companies prioritizing their app development on it rather than Android. My cable company has had an iPhone app for awhile that lets you watch live TV on your device....they are only just now beta testing this app for a select few Android models. So despite the fact that 68.8% of smartphones run Android and only 18.8% are iPhones, there is still the idea that the iPhone is the main platform to develop apps for. Come on now!
