Posted by mama cried at 8:05pm Mar 16 '10anybody remember Julia Sweeney? she played Pat on SNL, and it was a really stupid character. i find it hard to have much respect for her when she is in character as Pat, but i have a whole new respect for her now. Showtime movie channel has been running two of her stand up routines recently. one is called God Said Ha, and the other is called Letting Go of God. anyone who appreciates truly intelligent comedy, not just that slap stick silly kind, will fall in love with this woman and her style of comedy. one warning though: in her first act, God Said Ha!, she takes several pokes at Christianity, particularly Catholicism, and her second act, Letting Go of God, blasts Christianity wide open. she can really make a person think if the person watching has the desire to think outside the christian box about such things. two very enthusiastic thumbs up for Sweeney. if any of you get to watch, or have already seen it, tell me what you think. i was impressed, but that's not saying much. :P
