I fully intend to keep using both my new DSLR (which should arrive tomorrow, according to UPS's tracking info) and my P&S - you're absolutely right that the only truly useless camera is the one you don't have with you!!
Red, huh? Interesting. I'll have to put that to some field testing...
I definitely do need to get out of the habit of deleting photos before I even get them to a screen big enough to really review them. I did pretty good on my last outing, fighting the urge on several different shots (that really did turn out to be complete crap), but there were still a few shots that got the axe in the field.
