Heh. Where in my post was I judging God's love? If anything, I was judging myself and my own thoughts, you know?
The problem comes when people confuse their impression of church - which is guaranteed to be full of hypocrites - with God himself.
Yeah. But I don't think I'm doing that. It's almost that God doesn't even come into play when I'm there because of the doubt I have in myself and in the sincerity of those who made the church and profit from it.
I love our pastor like a brother... and when he calls me on the phone he calls me HIS brother "from another mother"... we have a great relationship and I have nothing but love for him as a person and as a great leader.... HOWEVER.... I don't always agree with every message he delivers and - in fact - we've been through an entire message series or two that I thought just sucked.
He would also be the first person to admit that he "doesn't have it all together".
I'm glad you have that kind of relationship with him. That's probably more along the lines of the kind of church Four was talking about. It would be hard to have a relationship with Osteen, as there are some 30,000 members...

What I see here - and you can correct me if I'm wrong - is you basing your opinion of God on your experience in Man's church and your knowledge of Religion.

My opinion on God has come through my own personal journey. Too many unanswered questions and discrepancies for me to get to past in order to truly believe.
The church thing is more about ME and me judging OTHERS for THEIR actions. Which is kind of shitty but no less true. Let me give you a tour inside my head while I was at church:
Those tv screens are huge, how much did they cost?
Why did he just plug their cd?? That's so hollywood.
Look at this woman saying !Amen! When she walks out the door does she still praise God by doing his work?
Everyone seems so happy, how can I begrude them it?
Because it's only for 2 hours of their life and then it's back to a shitty world.

This church store is huge, I wonder where the profits go?
Do they really need that much lighting for their band?
Is Osteen playing to the cameras or does he really believe what he says?
Why does his wife say "bless you WHILE you give", will I still be blessed even though I'm not giving?
Why do they "witness" before the sermons? Do these people really just want to get close to Osteen? His line is the longest.
