Are American Grads "Lazy" and "Unemployable"?

This was the suggestion of a CEO of an Indian technology company, and specifically he was talking about technology graduates (though we can expand that if we like). The criticism focused around a stereotype of American workers lacking discipline and being reluctant to do the boring work, always looking for "the next big thing."
Fair or unfair criticism?
My own personal experience is that I don't have a lot of experience working with Americans. In my professional career I've seen mostly Indians, followed by Chinese and Eastern Europeans. There weren't that many Americans even applying for job openings.
