The young kids spend all shift texting or surfing the net on their cellphones instead of doing their job. The old farts spend all shift bullshitting, sleeping, or hiding instead of doing their job. The job doesn't get done either way, but the young kid seems lazier because he's standing right next to the machine while it's breaking down, whereas you never actually see the old guy being lazy.
