Eighty-six percent of American women respondents between 50 and 64 years of age said they got a mammogram (search) in the past three years, six points higher than in Australia and nine higher than in the U.K.

Preventative medicine (when appropriately doled out - screening all toddlers for colon problems, for example, like you would men over 40 (or is it 50?) is just kind of silly) is hugely beneficial to both costs and to overall health - the fact that we get more of that is a big mark in our favor.
