a very silly one, at that. almost as bad as scientology. they do consider themselves a denomination (the one true one, of course...) of xianity, but theyre about as far from it as muslims. although islam could at least be considered a 'legitimate' religion.
basically, mormonism started when smith claimed to be getting messages from god that only he could understand. they were written down in a language that only he could interpret. which amounts to him making up whatever he wanted, which at one point came to include that he should marry a new 16 year old every 10 years. (which is why polygamy is allowed in mormon.) at one point someone stole some of his translations, but he refused to retranslate that part. (most likely since he wouldnt be able to accurately recreate what he had made up that first time around.) its a wonder how anyone could believe in it, knowing the history of it.
